just picked up 2009 X5 35d w/119K

Just picked up 2009 x5 35d with 119k for the wife. This is my first diesel vehicle. I already plan on doing all fluid and filter replacement i.e.
- BMW Oil & Filter change
- Peak DEP flush
- BMW Transmission flush replacement
- Brake Fluid
- SS Brake lines
- Brake Pads

Any recommendations or advise on preventive maintenance is greatly appreciated.

Also looking for stage 2 tune. From my research only thing available for diesel is JB+.
thanks

Welcome to the team!

Id say the thermostat is probably one of the first things to check.
next make sure cowl is not leaking water into injectors 5 and 6

lots of choices for the tune. Just avoid forum member bawareca.

Harmonic balancer is a common failure item. They seem to last anywhere between 80k and 120k. Fluidampr has an aftermarket solution.

Make sure front driveshaft recall has been done.

Other tuning options (just stay away from JB nonsense):
Malone
Rocketchip
TDTuning
JR

Come join us over at the North American BMW Diesel Owners group on FB. Lots of good info and support, and a little vendor drama from time to time. https://www.facebook.com/groups/NABDOG/
