X5 4.8l 35 faults detected, Cel and hesitation

Below is the detailed fault report for my 07 x5 4.8l. Been having a problem where the cel comes on and then car hesitates on acceleration. When I reset the ecu the car drives fine but for a little while and then cel comes back again. What is the problem?

Battery 11.6V. 002EBC Generator.

If voltage can't stay over 12v you will get every type of error. Seems like alternator is kaput.

Pull up real-time voltage and drive around a bit. If voltage can't stay at 13.4+ at any RPM alternator/VR is shot.

Not as alarming as I thought the response to be but I just replaced the battery last week, but I believe I still have to register it with the vehicle, no? I'm hoping that's the culprit to everything else cause after all, the 5yr old interstate battery was due for replacement. I'm worried about the can codes but hope it is because of the battery. Like previously stated, a reset on the computer the car will drive normal for a short time.

Very often (almost always it seems) people will replace the battery when the alternator killed the battery. Make 100% certain the alternator is doing its job. Use hidden menu item 7 I think to show real-time voltage on the odometer.

Show the actual P-codes before you reset the full report I can't see the forest through the trees (too much clutter).

What year is your truck? If SES/CEL/MIL (all mean the same). Service engine soon (what actually shows on my dash), check engine light, malfunction indicator light (how service refers to the light).

Yes, I'm getting the cel and also what the picture shows below. By the way, thank you for your time.

Also, the p codes I'm getting are 3203, 1039, and 1036.

Just checked the alternator tonight and under load and no load, the alternator tested good. Tmr, I will register the battery and see if it’ll solve the mystery problem.

+1: when my alernator got weak, when I came to an abrupt stop the voltage would dip when RPM dropped. If you see this especially if the drop is more than 1/2 a volt (13.6 drops to 13.1) then the VR or brushes are suspect.

With all the can faults, I suspect that it's either a short somewhere, or a failed module. Dark days lie ahead..

How did you test the alt?

Is the battery fully charged at this point?

Did you find the TSB on can bus faults/shorts?
