Comfort Access Handle Replacement?

Hi,

Have read over previous posts on comfort access handles. Something I can't really find an answer to:

Does anything need reprogramming or should I just be able to buy a new/used handle and swap it out?

Also any difference between front/rear? They have different part numbers but people have reported swapping front/rear handles to test and the issue following the handle. I had thought perhaps each handle uses a different hardware address for communication but it doesn't sound like that's the case. If not, why the different part numbers..
