E70 4.8 headlight issue

My driver side headlight does not work.. the Halo's, solid amber and indicators work but the light and high beam does not work.

Today I swapped my bulb from the passenger side headlight which works perfectly and it didn't work. I put the bulb from the not working drivers side into the passenger side and it worked... SO both bulbs are fine.

Why am I getting all lights except headlights on the drivers side?

If you have hid, it maybe the ballast under the headlight assembly.

Thats good!
I put the good ballast in the bad headlight and it still didnt work... there is alittle corrosion on the bad ballast and plug, maybe the cable has corrosion on it?

Ok so I swapped my good ballast and the ‘good’ cable to the bad headlight and still got nothing! The bad ballast doesn’t work on the good headlight so that’s been ordered...

The bulbs work. I put both bulbs in the good headlight assembly and they work.

My question is why does the bad headlight not work when I got a good ballast, good cable and good bulb in it?

Any ideas would be appreciated... thanks

This maybe the start of continuity check of the wiring. Time to dust off the multimeter. You might need wiring diagram also to help.

Oh no... I don’t really know how to use them very well or more importantly, what it all means haha

Start with something simple then. Connector to the headlight assembly/housing. Compare with the other side with the switch on. If you get same result on both sides. Then your assembly maybe out. If you get different result on the connector. Then things get more interesting.
