Took my 5 in this morning for both air bags and the driveshaft. It was done by lunch time. Clean job, no issues. The dealer said he does around 10 per day.

My front driveshaft removed itself. Took out the transmission oil pan.
Did you know. A service bulletin, is inspect and replace as required. Any further issue, is on the owner. A recall? Any ancillary damage associated after a recall is issued must be covered by the manufacturer? As I was told, by the dealer, BMW canada, and further confirmed by BMW NA. But they have told me untruths before. I had my drivers air bag replaced two month ago. Airbag went in fine. There was a fault and non conection to some computer and the install linking failed. The new Can/bus computer thingy was covered under the airbag recall. There was some mention of my fault, I called BS. "always blame the customer'". Bottom line is, don't plan a long trip for the next day. it may take an overnight stay. A good dealer with offer you a car for your troubles. Be aware of this tactic as well. Free loaner comes with strings. My free car comes with a 5ooo dollar deductible. I take the shuttle. Know your liabilities. Last edited by Big Smoke; 04-06-2018 at 09:19 AM. |
