New Tires and all sorts of fun stuff
As many of y'all know, I just bought a set of 214's for the X5. Im going to keep them exclusively as a summer tire and use the factory 18's in the winter.
I did however just replace my aging Bridgestone Ecopias with Continental Cross Contact LX20 EcoPlus tires. I gotta tell you, damn fine tire. Smooth and QUIET. Great grip in the twisties and awesome in the rain. Have yet to test snow but I'll report back after this weekend. While I was doing that....I decided to replace the lower control arms, thrust arms, coolant reservoir, and do an oil change. I also checked the brakes. Odd thing. After the suspension update, I am getting this annoying knocking noise front the front end on bumps. It sounds like everything is old and worn. Steering is tight and suspension feels spot on its just that annoying knock. What the hell am I missing? Sway bar end Links? Is it that stupid upper wishbone?
