Driver side door open warning

driver side door open warning suddenly went on while driving today, and then the warning light shown on/off intermittently. In the parking lot, the warning light went off when I put gear to "P" and went on again in "D". does anyone have the same experience? could you please shed some light on this problem? Thank you!

my x5 was built in 2009, 6 cyclinders, all parts(except tires and battery) are original, only 53K miles.

I have had 9 door handle replacements under warranty. Not looking forward to the upcoming months.
Does you car have comfort access?
Last door handle replacement was November, I guess I have two years warranty on the parts and install.

My car doesn't have comfort access. The door open warning light went off when I drove out this morning and it is in normal operation now. maybe cold rain and gusty wind yesterday caused something malfunction. I googled around this issue with BMW vehecles, a lot of BMW has this issue and it seems acturator in the door need to be replaced. I will keep eye on my driver side door. thank you!

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
The hall sensor is integrated into the actuator. I just changed my drivers side, its not hard. There are videos on youtube. Make sure you remove the lock cylinder first, otherwise you will break the paddle and no one makes a lock repair kit for the X5. You can find them for the E90.
