E70 N62 Ambient Air Temperature Rises to 90 Degrees

Car was idling in front of my driveway for about 20 minutes and then I noticed the digital temperature went up to as high as 90 degrees. I then took it around the block and the temp dropped back to the low 60’s, same as the outside temperature at the time. Any idea what may have caused this?

Hot air from the engine washing over the front sensor?

The issue is also seen as 'heat soak' whereby heat under the engine 'soaks' the various components in the air intake path, creating hot intake are and lowering the engine power until air cools off.

Hot air from the radiator fan dumps under the car, affecting the sensor’s reading.
