Rear center arm rest stuck?

So in the rear seat the only cup holders are in the center arm rest. I have tried for a while but seems like its stuck.
Is there a trick other than the button push and pull down?

Cheers.

not sure I understand what the issue is if you're saying you know about the push button already...

It seems to be stuck, as though it's locked via something else.
So I am going to fold down the seats to see if there is anything else that would lock it.

Ekshah,
There is no other lock other than push down the tab and pull down (as you've stated). You may want to nudge from the back of the seat.

So here it is. The button did not seem to connect to the lock dis-engage mechanism for the arm rest. I'll get it fixed next time I take it to the BMW dealership.
But all I had to do was stick a flat head screw driver to push in to the grove above the button, to release the armrest.
Posted pics just in case, this happens to anyone else.

Cheers!
Shah

I gave up on lookiing for a fix for that. You can stick your finger in there and push that flap up so you can release the armrest. After doing that so many times I gave up and I literally just broke that flap off (flap on the actual latch of the back seat, not the armrest latch) so that the armrest can be free without pushing any buttons. So much better this way anyway. That lock is so unnecessary.
