No air from rear vent. 2010 X5

2010 X5.

Issue: No air coming from the rear RIGHT vent of the center pair. (not the vents next to the doors, these are the vents under the armrest)
And yes, they both open and only the left vent blows air.

Please help with troubleshooting ideas.

Are there 2 blowers for these two vents and one could be broken?

There are individual vents internally that control airflow. A lot of them...

Both vent dials are in the open position. I also used a flashlight to verify they were both open.
Is there another vent further in I can't see without taking it apart?

Correct

If you went to that site; searched for heat and air conditioning; found the section on IHKA; you would see there are perhaps 15 internal motor controlled flaps that maintain temperatures.

I've never had to work on one, so I cannot provide you with a definitive diagnosis.

The system *IS* linked to the computer system in the car; a BMW diagnositic system MAY be able to see codes relating to a stuck or broken actuator. Maybe. The BMW software is available online, but is not easy to set up and use.

From the link ARD posted...and using the info you gave about your vehicle...I typed "air distribution" into the search box to pull up documents about that topic and came across this:

The right rear air vent actuator is #5 in the diagram and there's more information if you use the website or even the link below. The TIS website has embedded links in many of the documents that will take you into further details...are you can obtain info that is pertinent...then type that into the search field to expand your inquiry:
