Backup camera flickering
I have a 2010 and the backup camera just started flickering a couple of days ago. The side view cameras aren't flickering, so I know it's not a problem with the NAV screen.
Does anyone know if this is covered by the CPO warranty? I know it specifically excludes "Radio/cassette player, telephone, navigation system, CD changer, or any components of those systems; non-original equipment parts, components or accessories." Was just wondering if you think the camera would be included or not. I also seems to happen when it is hot outside, so I'm wondering if it is just a plug that doesn't have a good connection. But I don't know where to start looking for plugs to check. |

don't know if is covered or not...
when the camera is flickering, is it a random flicker, or it has some pattern to it? if the connector is physically disturbed, the flicker will be "electronically" random but tied to the mechanical movement of the car or the components (say, you slam the trunk lid, camera flickers), if the camera is electronically flickering, then you would have the "out-of-sync" flicker, or some other type of electronic flicker, tied to engine speed, or to turn signal, or some other things, as if the shield on the cabling is lost... |

I had the same issue on my 35d, same exact symptoms, they replaced the camera and cabling, big job, but mine is still covered by warranty...

Could you define "big job" or elaborate on this procedure? I am having mine replaced dealer diagnosed that the fiber optic cable is at fault and will be replacing it. Curious if I should push for camera as well just to save a trip but more concerned with how much will be taken apart inside the cabin. I do not want any rattles or squeaks after because mine is nearly silent and would love to keep it that way.

Hi, what was the conclusion on this one? Which cable was it, and how long will it take for a workshop to replace it?
Was it a success when cable was changed? |

Good info in here. Did anyone ever figure out the pn for the cable that needs replacing?

I believe this is the cable you will need. Ours does this as well... putting it off as long as we can. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...s/61129241791/ Here is a DIY that should show you how to get to the cable/route it. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/70z6vfuci...zHi1WZLPa?dl=0 Hope that helps.

I thought it was almost always the fault of the cable? I'm sure other components can break, but the cable was usually the culprit?
