New axle cost ? Have a glass of scotch in hand when you look it up Axle from re-cycler via ebay, $125. I might as well do rear brakes at the same time....

If it's just the clamp and the joint isn't ruined from lack of grease, why not just use a quality zip tie on it? Maybe pack some more grease in the boot and then seal it with the zip tie. I'd at least try that before I went to the time and trouble of replacing the whole axle shaft. |

Go to a Napa or the like and get a replacement CV clamp. Nothing special about those. If you aren't picky, you could use a worm drive hose clamp temporarily.
