Considering an N63. What are the pitfalls?
With this in mind would you venture into a N63? I just replaced my N62 for $3500. It's not as exciting as the N63. Is the excitement due to the exhilaration that something may explode at any moment? Or is the excitement due to the 450bhp? What are your experiences? Thanks |

Are you trying to retrofit the N63?

Who is selling an actual REMANUFACTURED BMW motor for 3500?
Not gone through and toss used parts into it w new seals and bearings... Not a used motor...but a reman??? |

Oh, to the question... I'd buy BMW remains all day long for 3500.

Same. My old m42 (1.8L 4 cyl) for my 318is was a factory engine and it was +$4500 as a short block from BMW back in the early 2000's. But man... how fun would an E53 be with an N63?

I read somewhere that BMW was selling them. Maybe they are requiring a core. If I recall they were saying you had to reuse all the accessories like turbos, injectors, and wire harness.
It sounded too good to me too. And that's why I would even consider it. It's probably just a block? I guess this thread ends here. No $3500 reman means no chance getting into a N63. Maybe a N63TU but that's still iffy. Thanks everyone! |

I think this is a short block with no heads. I assume this is an N63 special which is good news for people who may need this someday.
