Just a side note... looks like you have (had?) a bit of residue from the exhaust, especially on the passenger side. Any issues with your X?

The problem is brake dust really sticks onto Plastidip, despite hard scrubbing. A smooth surface of a stock rim is much easier to clean / maintain especially with the products you alluded to. I've tried an Armor All product that's supposed to keep dust off for longer and it was only partially effective and not worth the effort/cost. I've found the blackened rims to be the best solution for me. Maintenance free for over a year, though it's starting to wear thin and it's ready for another application.
As for the residue - that drip is somewhat normal on our E70s and has been a problem since the beginning. It comes right off with liquid clay bar, but it usually comes back after a few drives so I can't keep up with it.
