bluetooth module underdash location??

Hello everyone. I have a 2011 x5 e70. I am experiencing issues using my handsfree phone...via bluetooth. The problem started after I took my SAV in for the airbag recall. I have read on another forum that a few people had similar issues with poor sound quality and terrible reception, also the phone switching on and of handsfree. I believe it is a loose connection to the under dash bluetooth module. I have unpaired the IPhone and also my wife's phone and re-paired them, still the same bad signal.

If you know where I could locate the unit UNDER THE DASH, please let me know. I checked the module in the truck and the wires are in tight. I am avoiding a trip back to the stealership and them not taking responsibility.

Found wireless bluetooth antenna for poor reception issues.

Hello everyone, I located the bluetooth antenna. It was located under the gear shift lever. I recently had my X5 in the shop for a few recalls. One of the recalls was the air bag recall. I had no phone issues and it worked prior to the service. After making several phone calls after the service, my wife said the reception was really bad, both the receiving end and car reception.

I went on a few BMW forums and it was reported that when they had brought their X5's in for a service recall, they had the same bluetooth issue. A call to the dealer was made, but said they didn't have a reason to mess with the bluetooth antenna. My next thought it was a phone issue but after testing 2 different paired phones, I went outside the box.

My son is a mechanic at a large Cadillac dealership and located the bluetooth antenna and sure enough, it was unplugged. He also said there is a snap ring on it so it won't come unplugged. Too bad stealership wouldn't take responsibility for it! It's fixed and works fine!
