Aux Waterpump Noise

Any takers as to what this noise means?

I know auxiliary water pumps fail easily in the E70 50i but we had it replaced already under warranty about 20K miles ago - bad again? How bad to replace?

Noise is hard to hear in the video but best way I can describe is a cavitation from the pump or a bearing on the pump shaft that's spun in its housing. Why do you suppose it cuts in and out rather than running continuously?
