BMW injector 5 replacement.
My brother posted snail mail instead of fast courier.😩 Tomorrow I will be back on the case. Would appreciate your thoughts on one question before I start the reassembly process. On the attached photos the original injector code ends in 02 however new injector ends in 03. Do you know if these numbers have to be the same? Kind Regards |

I don't think so, probably just a newer revision. The 7 letter/digit code by that letter z and the barcode is the one you code in using ista-d/rheingold.

Good morning Robnitro from New Zealand. Didn’t get finished owing to not being happy with quality of the round inlet manifold gaskets my brother supplied from Australia. Got some coming from BMW. Hopefully tomorrow we can have some success.
Is there a fuel bleeding process I will have to carry out or can I just try and start engine after I have entered new injector code? Have a great day, bed time here. Kind Regards |

I just started it. It takes a bit of time for the idle to stabilize but once it does wait a minute. Then, you can code the injector, restart engine and check the smooth running control in ista/rheingold to see how close the injectors are firing.

A big thanks
Firstly thanks thanks Torqueisking for latest response.
Finally after getting parts from various parts of the world I am pleased to say the vehicle is back on the road. Thankfully the assembly process went without any hitches and after on the 4th attempt to start motor it burst into life and idled perfectly. I purchased the Foxwell NT 520 scanner with BMW software installed from AliExpress to re-code new injector code into the DME. The re-code process using the Foxwell scanner was a very simple process. The only thing I was not happy with were the aftermarket inlet manifold round seals I purchased out of Australia. They appeared a little thinner and the rubber harder than the originals. Consequently I purchased new from BMW. They were a little thicker and the rubber a lot softer therefore sat nicely in the holding tab at the bottom of the groove. I want to say a big thank you to all who contributed especially Robnitro. Robnitro responded to my questions and consequently allowed me to sleep easier at night. When you live in a small town at the bottom of the world Robnitro's quick responses were very much appreciated. Again a big thanks to all Kind Regards from Lake Wanaka New Zealand. |

I'm glad the issue was solved.
I had went through the same mess and figured that the stress of figuring out what caused it would be best avoided by others in the future! It's a shame that a stupid plastic piece is made so badly that it kills injectors without us noticing! |
