Yes with this deal my B.S meter is off the scale Story goes - after coming back from India found the X dead and rear suspension collapsed owner says “we have other cars so we just left this one and drove our other cars”.... it runs and dies due to low fuel.... Hmmm not the fact it’s not getting full voltage and pulling 70 codes after first attempt to start LOL. I would ultimately like to rescue the beast but not looking to bury a lot of $ in the process, time I don’t mind. Thanks for posting

Could be as simple as bad gas. Could be something much worse.

Well I'm here to wrap this up. In doing my diagnostic checking fuses, looking for any rodent damage to wiring harness etc. I happen to glance at the fuel pump relay for the third time. In looking at so many bloody electrical connections and relays I noticed it didn't look like a BMW relay. I pulled the thing and sure enough it was a generic relay. I went over to my box of BMW relays and installed the proper green relay and BINGO!!!! all was good and ran great especially for sitting for so long. Interesting how this relay could cause so many unrelated and serious codes appear.
End of the day I have become very proficient in checking fuse boxes and electrical connections. Now onto the air suspension compressor. Thanks for all the support!

That's interesting, I've never seen a BMW relay fail in the first place so I'm curious how the replacement unit you found got in there to begin with.

Sounds like you went through with the purchase. I'm a recent E70 owner myself, I'm just north of Seattle. Hit me up if you're local and ever want to plan a wrench session!

I have no idea how it came to be installed in there but can guarantee the X didn't go to far afterward.. Yes I did buy it. I just had a nagging feeling this was doable and took a chance. I have yet to drive it as Im waiting for parts - Suspension compressor & bags, Replacement rear screen for entertainment package, Set of brakes & pads. It will be interesting to see how she goes down the road after repairs. Im up by the Peace Arch on I5 will let you know. Thanks.
