Low Boost?
I purchased a used 2012 X5M in February and its been running great since, no real issues and it was well cared for it seems. had some issues with the CCV hoses leaking but replaced the passenger side and did some repairs on the drivers side CCV by putting a replacement hose in between the ccv breather where it comes from the valve cover (see pic) ![]() It all seems to be working fine and I don't get an codes but since i've owned the car I've had it go into malfunction mode when accelerating very aggressively like 3 times. Checking with INPA shows these were misfires. a few times in Cylinder 1 and also, 4 and 6. I havent checked my spark plugs and don't know when the were changed last. I bought the car with 102k miles. These issues made me want to check my boost pressure and using the fusion app the highest boost I am seeing is 2.8 psi. I don't know if I have to do any special settings on this app as the gauge range in -15/+15 but even the sensor monitors is showing 2.6-2.8 boost. my barometric pressure is in expected range. 14.5 psi. (I'm just learning as this is my first turbo, so bear with me). ![]() I know the car should be producing more boost then 2.8 psi and I do feel the boost although a bit hesitant at first and I can't say for sure if the car is performing as expected. I have IPNA (a lot of it is in german for e70, ugh) and ISTA but not sure of the things I can check there to diagnose this. Not getting any codes other then the few times it misfired. I have come across some posts here that talk about the boost solenoid and that if youre not throwing codes to check/replace them and it might be your culprit. Insights appreciated.
