X5 35d - Help identifying part

So while I was replacing vacuum lines on the E70 X5, I broke the nipple on the bottom of this black part. Appears to be related to the EGR cooler, based on what I found online.

I'm guessing this black part isn't available separately, but if it is, anyone have an idea on part number?

Also, is this part needed if I went ABC delete?

Sorry, no idea on part number. Have you checked realoem.com?

That's the LP egr valve that the x5 35d has and not the 335d.
If you deleted, you wouldn't need it, just plug the end of the hose that goes to it.

You can plug the hose for now but I think you will eventually get check engine codes for the lp egr not working.

If it's not hard to access, you can crazy glue on the nipple (if it's salvageable from the hose you pulled), after lube it well and slide the hose on. I did that for a nipple that I broke on my TDI and it still held until I was able to get the part.

Thanks robnitro.

I can't see the part very well so I wasn't sure what to even match it to on a parts diagram, but what you wrote confirms more of what I thought it could be. It does give me motivation to delete the whole alphabet soup, because I'm sure that is an expensive part.

There is a whole slew of vacuum actuators on this system (I broke one of those nipples as well $160 new), but I'm guessing those aren't removable even if I deleted. This car was from Texas so I think the nipples are possibly more brittle than average.

So there are 2 blockoff plates needed for EGR on the X5 it sounds like when doing the delete.

I think I found it. It's a $245 part.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/11717807928/

Which puts me at over $400 just for those 2 parts.

Oh man, replacing vacuum lines just got way more expensive then a $20 roll of hose.

Thanks. One of them snapped by me looking at it. haha.

The other one I tried to apply heat to loosen it up first, but couldn't get in there very well. Hose was really stuck on there and maybe I'd have had a chance with an exacto knife and heat on the bench, but not where it was. So much plastic on these cars!

Try screwing something like the attached into the hole using a pipe sealer on the threads.

That's a good idea. I didn't know something like that existed. Currently debating on delete, might just do that fix you posted for now and save the cash for later.

I might try and fabricate a piece to glue on assumign you could find epoxy or other glue that works....

A short tube that creates a new nipple, then a small square that will fit precisely onto that part- counterbore the square to hold the new nipple. This creates much larger surface area for the glue to hold and more mechanical strength...
