Preset button popped out!

Anybody have one of the preset buttons from the i-drive pop out and not be able to get it to pop back in? If so, how did you fix it? Hate to have to replace the entire assembly because of one button deciding to commit suicide.

Searched everything I could think of and couldn't find anything in reference to this.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, should have elaborated more. The preset buttons for the CIC, my number "4" button decided to be in my cup holder when I came out of the office for lunch. Put it back in place but wouldn't "click" and lock in place as the others. No clue what could have broken as I actually don't even use them.

If they're like the E39 button covers, once they go, they're gone. Sometimes they'll weakly hold on and be okay if you don't touch them. Fortunately there are sources for the individual button covers or entire units from donor cars in support of the E39. Never seen anything like that for the E70 but never looked either.

Replacement buttons for the IHKA came up on an f10 5 series form I frequent...and they mentioned eBay as a source for replacement buttons...perhaps this will apply to the audio preset buttons, too.

Here's a link to that thread in case you may have more questions...perhaps the OP of that thread can point you in a more specific directions in regards to a seller's name on eBay and/or if they saw the audio preset buttons being sold for the CIC era BMW components:
