Can anyone confirm a failed water pump (video)
Unfortunately my X5 started to overheat this morning on a busy highway and I had to get it towed.



By putting the car into coolant bleed mode, I tested the water pump.
It makes a noise but doesn't move coolant





Although I think I know the answer but wanted to confirm if the water pump needs to be replaced.

If so, I should probably replace the thermostat as well (although can a water pump be replaced without the thermostat?)
