MillerMav is on a distinguished road
Hello from Mid Michigan

Good morning all,

I have been a member on here for quite a while but mainly for research purposes when it came to my wifes old 2009 X5 35d. I loved that car; sure it was her daily but it was also the weekend family truckster and road trip car. It had 226k miles and aside from the high mileage injector failures (which I learned to diagnose and repair fairly quickly) it was dead on reliable. It had full DPF/EGR/Cat delete with a JR race tune. All that work was done by Matt Whitbread who is awesome if you didn't already know....

Anyway; we sold that X5 back in early December because after the second injector crapped out on my wife, leaving her stranded in rush hour traffic, she wasn't comfortable driving it anymore. We decided on a new Toyota Sienna for her and it's a great vehicle but we definitely missed the X5d.

So last week I found the perfect replacement. I wanted something I knew how to work on and knew everything about. Aside from the delete and tune work I had done everything else on the old X5 myself. I flew down to North Carolina to pick up a 2013 X5 35d in Silver with Cinnamon interior, anthracite HL, 8 way seats, fully loaded! Plus it only has 63k miles which means I know I have at least 180k left on it from previous experience. I had thought about going with an F15 model but as I said; I know the E70 diesel inside and out so I know I can make this thing last for a lot of years and that's what I want.....my last car for quite some time.

Anyway; I don't know if this is an introduction or a reintroduction but I'm glad to be back in an X5 diesel, they really are great vehicles.

Here is a couple shots from somewhere in WV on my drive back to Michigan

Cheers,

Garrett
