Muffler Delete 3.0si e70 X5
After fixing all of the issues I've had with my e70 recently, I decided to do a muffler delete along with some Magnaflow exhaust tips. I did some shopping around and first went to shop shop in Lagrange, IL. Not going to name the shop, but they wanted $500+ tax to cut off the muffler and weld a pipe into place at cut off point. Then said they had to make a "tee" somewhere up the middle because they could not weld the 2 pipes to fit to the existing pipe. Second option was cutting at resonator before the 2 pipes merge together to get a "true dual exhaust." 775+ tax. Both options were using aluminized steel. And the last option, using stainless steel piping at a cost of $975+ tax. I immediately left. I ended up going to a place in the southside of Chicago where I grew up. Lets just say I got for a fraction of the first option. The guy did a great job, I even gave him a tip for beer. :-) Now all I need to do is apply some high heat primer and paint to protect the new pipes. Overall satisfied with result. Will post pictures and video soon. Sounds great.
