Yup, I opted for option 1. Should be here tomorrow, and weather permitting, I'll swap it in on Saturday.

Looks like you are somewhere close to me in the GTA, as i deal with Canadian Auto Electric all the time.

Quick question, did any oil spill on the alternator and what was the mileage on the vehicle when you changed it?
Was it making a loud whining sound?

The alternator is not hard to replace. As for oil. My alternator had oil pouring all over it from several leaks. 15,000 miles ago I used two cans of CRC electrical cleaner on it to make it shiny and new. No issues since. I would post a picture but Xoutpost won’t let me.

No oil spilled. I was in the 220,xxx KM range. Now at 238k KM
