N55 Valve Cover Gasket Help

Hello all,

First post here on the forums, just picked up a 2012 X5 35i and it needs the valve cover gasket done. Got tear down complete but having trouble getting the valve cover with the gasket back in. Either I get the valve cover in and the gasket falls out and gets misaligned or I get caught on other things in the way such as the ABS hard lines.

Does anyone have any tips to stop the gasket from falling off or getting the valve cover in easier? I was thinking about also removing the fuel rail itself, to make install easier, but was wondering if anyone had any other tips to help out.

Thanks!

'glue' it into place with the same stuff you use for the nooks and crannys where the gasket needs a little help. Dibond/flexible gasket, that stuff. Not too much of course, just to keep it in place while manouvering it into place
