If it's electrical, you can unplug the bad injector and it'll run on 5 cylinders.
I did that when my injector 5 was shorted on the common wire for bank 2 (4 5 6). But this case he had a mechanical problem of leak down, where the injector was leaking to the return lines. That shows up as a rail pressure issue, because the pump can't make the pressure. |

Thanks for all the advice! I'm getting the injectors back from the shop this Monday, and will update more info when I put everything back together. So what you're saying is if the injector is not functioning mechanically, then the fuel pressure goes back to the fuel rail, messes up the pressure for other injectors and causes the engine not to start? I did have a fuel rail code show up as soon as the X5 shut off while in motion. Wasn't able to start it up after it got towed back, and I did try to disconnect Cyl 1 injector connector. Hoping the new replacement injector will fix the issue.
