X70 Tailgate/Taillight question

Can you replace a bulb on the tailgate if you have one out, or do you have to replace the $60 Unit? Info center says left 2 stage light problem.

There is a replaceable "standard" bulb, at least in the pre-lci vehicles.
It is usually corroded contacts or circuit board traces because of moisture from a leaking factory seal.
First step is to check that lights actually light. If they do, then the aftermarket (oem ?) Unit replacement with new gasket is the way to go.
Do not know about lci cars.
