Something loose under car?
It sounds like some bolts are loose and its like a metal sound it kind of rattles on bumps and stops on even pavement. Checked the trunk and lower hatch its not those so we can eliminate that. Also checked the drive shaft seems tight no play. |

If it was just a few days later I would take the BMW back to where you had tires installed and tell them the issue.

they couldn’t figure it out either they checked brakes, exhaust shields, etc... could it be rear tie rods or would it be another waste of cash?

The X5’s unibody can make it hard to determine the location of the source of various sounds. Sounds can seem to be coming from the rear, when the problem is really in the front.
For example, a failed front strut guide support can make a sound that seems to come from under the back seat. So I’d be wary of replacing things just based on where the sounds seem to be coming from. The cautionary tale… https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...unk-trunk.html ...the actual solution… https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...build-diy.html Funf Dreisig |

Man this just started with mine! Sounds like it is coming from behind the drivers side rear. Going to have it checked next week.
