2 stage brake light error, but light is on non stop

Anyone dealt with this? Everything I can find in searches is people having issues with the 2 stage brake lights not working. I have the bulb error showing up on Idrive, but the right hand light is constantly on like it thinks it is a running light.

Just thought I'd see if there is any smoking guns out there before I dig into it. Going to check for wire shorts in the hatch loom. If I don't find anything there then I can basically assume there is a short in the housing and I'll just replace it with a wrecker housing.

Check for water in the light housing. It causes a failure that keeps the led illuminated, fix is replace the lens/lamp assembly and be sure to use a new gasket after cleaning the body of all old gasket residue.
Do a web search for the light assy, they are relatively inexpensive and will guarantee you do not install the same problem again.

The left side failed on my 07 4.8l this last year. A little water did a lot of fouling of the logic circuit in the light housing.
