Yep...in regards to some things...BMW's design architecture doesn't change. In this regard...BMW only needs to supply one START button across every model that has one. There's not a different start button for various BMW models.
Even though some buttons may appear to be mounted in a different direction...the START button still is mounted and secured within its housing the same way.
BTW, one of the quickest and easiest START button removal DIYs used some type of "putty"...they stick it to the front of the button they are removing...and then pull...and the button pops out...and the new one pops back in. If you look for one of those DIYs...hopefully it will reveal what type of putty they used and how long they let it set before pulling on it.
