New to me 35d with no service records where to start?

Hi everyone! I just bought a 2011 35d with 140k miles. I don’t have a good service history on it, just after I bought it it threw the exhaust recirculation code and had a stored NOX code. I plan on deleting it entirely but I need to save up some money. Where can I start in the mean time? If you had One with no service history outside oil changes, what would you do first?

Welcome to the diesel club! You can read my build log to get an idea on things I've done to it.
