Updated Center Partition; part number 51 71 7 169 421

51 71 7 169 421
51717169421

I recently had water leak onto my engine due to the center partition leaking due to poor BMW design. My car had the butyl tape work done already but the water got through.

BMW has redesigned the center partition so I bought new one from FCP Euro. I took some detailed pics so you can see how great the new part is. It now has rubber "wings" that will carry water over the gap with the side partition so it won't leak on the engine.

I highly recommend you update to this part to avoid water intrusion.

Thank you for your photos , it’s exactly what I wanted to see;
It still has the same part number as the old part? So if you order from some places it may be possible to end up with the old design...

Doesnt look like the part number has changed, which is a bit odd for part changes.

I replaced mine, but its been so long I forget what they look like....

The part number did not change. I just bought mine based on the vendor’s photo. Also Fcp has a generous return policy so I had no worries if it was the old part I could return it.

Another less scientific way is if it is under $100 it’s probably the old part and over $100 is the new part... but I would go by vendor picture.

Glad I could help.
