Weird - E70 - BCM issue? Help

Hey all

2011 30d

Weirdest symptoms - wondering if anyone has experienced:

Electric tailgate
Glove box
Air conditioning (doesn’t cool)

All at same time these fail

Sometimes for days

It was intermittent and has gotten worse

When one of them are working - all of them are working

Is this typical of a junction box BCM symptoms?

Any experience or info would be great!

Throwing no relevant codes to diagnose!

JBE looks like a common component. AC and read hatch on one fuse. But all 3 controlled via JBE

Hello, I have exactly the same problem with my 2010 BMW X5 E70 lift. The trunk lid stops working at the same time the air conditioning does not work, as soon as the air conditioning starts working, the trunk lid also works and vice versa, can you tell me where to look because I'm running out of ideas.
Thank you

The JBE module is involved with both the AC and the rear tailgate.

I am fairly good with DIY if I am provided direct instructions... Is there anyway to test the JBE or does it need to be replaced?

Im gonna say that you dont have istap, and dont have a cable- otherwise you'd already have been looking at codes, and into the FRM and JBE.

and even then, there is no singular code that says 'Bad JBE" or 'bad FRM'.

your best bet - and I think this is likely what bought you to xoutost' is to google and read- pattern match with symptoms. There was a recall (JBE or FRM?) but that was 10 years or 120k miles. was yours done? (Dealer can pull this up, for free.) FRM is pretty cheap, might be cheaper/faster just to replace instead of paying someone to remove, test, reinstall. There is also the hassle of the car being down for a few days if you send it out...
