Not sure I agree with this

I mean I know we pay for these guys experience, they earn their living doing things we can’t, don’t want to or have time to do, and I’ll never fault them for that..., but north of 1200 for the VC, seems a bit extra, in my opinion
Ya not sure what to think I know I am no expert but I know how to troubleshoot. I really dont think that todays mechanics really know how to troubleshoot and solely are trained to rely on computers to diag instead of using it a tool assist with the troubleshooting.

My uncle was a ASE trained mechanic back in the day, he is in his 70's now and retired. Bought a Chevy Duramax to tow his 24ft trailer. Kept having issue with the turbo and the dealership kept telling him there is no issues that the scanners are picking up. Kept trying superficial bullshit hope something would stick

The 3rd time back to the dealer he had enough

He went into the shop and diag'ed right in front of them and they were like holy shit how did you do that!!

Ya just feel like I am bent over a log being 1000 miles away

But anyways thanks for everything!

Ding ding. Unfortunately.

Not that I'm an expert at diag, and I often opt for the parts canon (parts aren't THAT expensive usually). But dealer techs are experts at spending customers money at full retail pricing.

Thanks, it's certainly come a long way. Wagons are cool, what can I say.
