Instrument Cluster retrofit

I'm new to the forum. I've been planning some mods on my 2011 E70 x35i LCI and started looking into the gauges. I didn't see information about gauge mods in the forum so wanted to share that I came across a digital retrofit cluster with changeable skins. Link is https://customdigitalgauges.com/coll...it-cluster-e7x.

I get that its 2020 and the world can be cynical, but I really just ran across information after doing hours of research and wanted to share with the forum. The forum has helped me sort through issues with my vehicle and I wanted to share something I found in return.

I don't personally benefit at all, not a personal link and not clickbait.

Interesting product concept...but an indiegogo for something that can brick a car seems ill advised.

Then there’s the whole cost thing.... what, USD1200? Then every little niggle and feature you might like to see on this will likely be extra. $100 here...$100 there...

It just feels very expensive and very risky. Despite their promises and enthuasism....

Why not just install an android in place of the CCC (or CIC) display? There are units that display info from the car's ECU. The E70 has a bit limited display where it come to engine parameters, so is good to upgrade. But nearly a 1000 Euros for a dash display.....seems way over the top.
