35d - bad charge pipe on drivers side

My X5d has been running odd for the past 6 months. It was a little down on power and was not as even as it had been in the past. Finally, I got a check engine light with a random limp mode/half engine symbol. I noticed a little oil on the alternator and after removing the engine brace found these slits in the top of the charge pipe. 108k miles on stock 2009.

So check your hose the next time you are in there. Limp mode on the highway is not fun in any way.

$200 later, the new hose is in and all is well. I was able to re-use my temp sensor by cutting it out with a Dremel.
