Can't find acccurate fob reinitialization instructs to save my life
RE: 2011 X5 xDrive 35i No working remotes, starts car fine, no buttons work on either remote We got our car back from a shop and both our fobs quit working. I checked the diversity antenna and it's not blown. I held both fobs at the antenna and nothing happened. I purchased a fob tester and both fobs are transmitting. My next step I thought would be to reinitializing the fobs, in the hopes that when they disco'ed the battery, they quit being recognized. The problem is I find page after page of instructions on the web, none of which I can find. The two main issues are one want me to insert the fob, making it impossible to press the buttons while inserted into the dash, or to place the fob at the low key designator on the side of the column, which doesn't exist on my column. I've tried holding the fob everywhere along the column and dash and nothing works. The closest thing I could find to something I could follow was this: Quote:
I insert the fob, cycle through on by pressing the start button while not having my foot on the break(5 times), when back to off after that, remove fob, hold down the unlock(up arrow) and while holding, press the bmw logo three times, then let go of up arrow. The car does not recognize this. Can someone tell me how I would attempt to reinitialize these fobs on this particular vehicle? Thanks for your time! Last edited by schwim; 06-22-2021 at 05:40 PM. |
