The HOOD does that job. There is no appreciable dirt on the top of the beautiful shiny engine (IMHO much nicer looking than cheap plastic

I'm gonna try that, plus idling for 2 minutes after each drive.

I think the extra coolant circulation time should help cool down the turbo engine enough to reduce possible long term damage.

BMW first programmed in a cooling cycle but it killed the battery. First BMW paid for new batteries every year and then they decided to stop the cool down cycle (where it would run the aux fan after shut down to cool the engine).

My concern is cooling the turbo bearings. Idle is prob the best mode for that.
