E70 - INPA MISSING TRANSMISSION OPTIONS!
However, I select my chassis -> transmission type but the option for "F6 Activate -> Reset Adaptation" is not preset. In fact F3, F6 and F7 are not present and I cannot find the reset adaptation option anywhere under transmission options. Again, INPA is communicating with the car and will read in data but there simply doesn't seem to be this reset option anywhere. Has anyone else run into this issue on the E70 X5? Do you have any suggestions on getting this to work? Would this reset option be located under engine modules instead? I'm at a loss so any assistance would be fantastic! Incidentally, I installed INPA 5.0.6 form Mikes Easy install and the cable is form here -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L498NGZ . I have the cable switch set all the way to the left but I've tried the other 3 selections as well. The car is also set to accessory but not turned on. Thanks! Transmission / Car selection As you can see, there is no clear option to navigate to adaptation resets However, you can see here that I can communicate since I read in error data. Only 1 error present form around 50k mikes. The car has 250k now.

For those who may see this post and experience the same thing, I did end up figuring this out.
Under your installation folder for INPA, for me it's "C:\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT" there is a folder named "CFGDAT". In here there is a configuration file for my car named E70.ENG. When I viewed this file most of the transmission lines were commented out so they would not display in INPA. You can tell if they're commented out by the "//" before the line. At any rate, I uncommented the lines and saved the file so that my transmission control module option would display in INPA. But when I went to check I would get an error stating that I selected "GS19" but the module INPA found was "GS19D". At this point I began searching for the GS19D data file. The data files are also stored under the INPA folder under "C:\EC-APPS\INPA\SGDAT". Even though I had the GS19 data file it does not support the GS19D version of my control module. I found this post -> https://www.bimmerboost.com/showthre...87_2-IPO/page2 This post contained a version of the GS19 file I needed that supports the GS19D control module. All you need to do is rename the old GS19 file located under "C:\EC-APPS\INPA\SGDAT" and copy the new file in. Once you've done this iNPA should be able to recognize and load in your transmission options correctly. I've also added the menu translations below since they're all in German. Note, the first file listed on the first page did not work, a few posts down you'll find another post with an attachment that did work. I would attach it here but it's not allowed on xoutpost. This allowed me to reset my transmission adaptations. Unfortunately while I do feel a snappier shift, after about 15 minutes of driving, the shudder that I've been chasing down is still present only after warming up. I'm leaning toward the valvetronic motor at this point. I hope this post helps. But as always, this is for informational purposes only and if you use INPA do so at your own risk! Lastly, if you don't understand the language, just use google translate to translate from German to English or you desired language. GS19 Transmission Module Main Menu F1 Information F2 Identification F4 Error data F5 Read status F6 Control/output F7 Read data F8 Answer/output F9 Screen print F10 End F6 has the functions F1 Adaptation reset F9 Screen print F10 Back

Suggest that you use ISTA + or Rheningold in the future

Funny you should say that because I'm currently downloading ISTA+. It's a 16GB program so that crazy and takes forever to download. INPA is only about 155MB but is not nearly as clear to use as ISTA. I hope this download completes some time this century lol

Hi, I sent you the file I used as reference. I think I needed to make an edit to the file to get it to work but I don't really recall since it was a while back. I since then switched to ISTA Plus since INPA is a pain to use. And everything I was doing I needed to use google translate to figure out what it was saying.
Anyway, I assume no responsibility for using it but I did send it so use at your own risk and take your time being careful to translate what you're doing.

Hi, currently have the same problem but with the M57TOP engine. My Engine file (E70.ENG) had the // symbols in front of some of the lines. I deleted them but still no luck. Could I send you the file so that you can check I've done it correctly?
Kind regards, Lee |
