Android Headunit CarPlay Music Skipping Issue

Has anyone tried this wireless Apple Carplay adapter in conjunction with a Android head unit? Does it get rid of the Wireless Carplay music skipping issue?

I have no experience with your setup, but I have had skipping with the stock bluetooth setup.

Upgraded to latest iPhone pro and running Pandora on high-bitrate. Only once or twice in a day, very slight skip. Hardly noticeable anymore. Stock CIC iDrive.

Has to do with bitrate. Are you streaming directly from your device or from the Intnernet?

Pandora, as an example, can select a higher bitrate for streaming but warns of possible excessive skipping by doing so.

Also a function of the processor in your Android unit. There are literally hundreds of these units for sale. All with different processors and quality of build. Impossible to make a generic statement about any of them. Is your streaming device (phone,) also Android? Again, unknown quantity.

Try running known low-bitrate content directly from your device. See if that skips, then higher bitrate content, then try Inernet streaming. Need several hours of data from each stream to make any conclusions.

Also delete the pairing, restart everything and re-pair. This sometimes solves odd bluetooth issues.

I have accidentally left my phone in the house, and successfully streamed skip-free Internet content until leaving the driveway. (It is streaming, phone must be in the car. Right?)

The only things I can suggest:

Close all applications on your phone
Delete pairing from phone and from head unit
Restart phone
Re-pair phone

Try streaming again. Use some 128kbps files and see if they skip. Or skip less.

This may help, may not. There are a lot of variables so very difficult to point at anything specific. Need to experiment quite a bit to find out what works, or what makes it worse. I.e., Phone position relative to the BT antenna can be a factor.

Once you have some data, might help track down the root cause.
