Are 05 rims compatible with an E70?

Hi there!

Someone locally is selling a set of stock rims with tires of of an '05 X5 and I was wondering if the spec of the rim is compatible with my wife's 2011 xDrive35i. I'm not sure if the backspacing/width would be different.

Thanks for your time!

I should have added that the tires mounted to the rims show 235/65 R17

andrewwynn will become famous soon enough
Those are the "base" rims and small tires. I wouldn't do it.

The hubs are a different size and you need hub spacers to fit them but they are too small. I wouldn't use smaller than 255/55/18.

What are the current tires' size?

The hub diameter will be your biggest hurdle as andrewwynn mentioned above. The tire diameter is probably not the issue but the E70 has that front shock mount that fouls on some tires which means spacers, again, as mentioned above. The best, cheapest, simplest tire wheel setup I've come across is the Style 209 or 210 wheel and 255/55R18XL tires. Not fancy or cool but gets it done.

Thank you both very much for all the help. I'll give them a miss. Just didn't know if it as a cheap way to get into some additional tires for her ride.
