Can Adaptive Drive be bypassed and keep sport mode function?

Hi everyone,

Let me start by saying yes I searched and I must be doing something wrong because I did not find much. I have a 2011 x5 m sport 35i. With adaptive drive and self leveling rear suspension. Car has been converted to coilovers in the front, with self leveling still intact in the rear with new adjustable shocks. I used a Mach Shnell emulator module to bypass the AD warning light. This does work, however I lost sport mode. From my understanding this is because the shocks are disconnected. Is there any way to add resistors, coding or some sort of product to make the system think the shocks are still there?

And yes I agree that AD is great system but it was just too expensive for me to replace. Funny enough when I had the car lowered, it did not seem like the active sway bars where not working, now that I have it higher, you can tell.

What do you think 'sport' mode is, besides changing the AD parameters???

You press the button by the shifter, sport light comes on, AD uses different settings. No engine changes, no transmission changes....

AFAIK, nothing else changes.

good to know the Mach Shnell emulator worked in getting rid of the warning(s).

I'm pretty sure my front struts are blown and would rather replace them with non adaptive struts. $100 vs $1000 struts in the front...

is the Mach Shnell emulator plug n play?

Sort of, it requires moving some pins around. It's only one small box, that goes in the trunk area.

It also raises shift points like many other bmws, and should tighten the steering.

So you have AD and when you press the SPORT button the shift points change?!?

Or are you talking about shifting the transmission into 'sport' mode?
