Passenger Side Axel, Too Much Play?
So, the saga continues but we're getting somewhere. I got the car back after replacing the transfer case. The shudder and jerking is gone.
However I still have a vibration under load, typically going up hill, around 40 - 50 mph. It's very noticeable. Also, when I'm approaching a stop I get a heavy vibration / groan through the car until I'm completely at rest. I've read places that people have experienced this sort of thing due to a failed front axel. So I put my car on the jack and checked the axels for play. The passenger side is the original axel, @265k currently. There is a slight amount of play in it where it meets the large metal drum near the engine. Does this look like too much play? Does anyone have experience with this? https://www.dropbox.com/s/2onge85czd..._8505.mp4?dl=0

Yes, there should be no play in that direction.

I got the new axle in last week. I've been driving it since. And the vibration under load and while coming to a stop is completely resolved. The car runs and drives like new. Finally!

That's great to hear. Hope you get some trouble-free driving out of it.
