No/little power to fuel pump
Hey guys… I recently filled my car with fuel..jumped back in and nothing but turning over and no fire. In doing some investigation…no codes via ISTA. Checked power at fuel pump…only around 1.7v. Car will fire with starter spray. Any thoughts would be extremely appreciated? Thanks |

Check fuse and change relay.

Looks like both the 30d and 35d X5's use the EKPS module to power the fuel pump.
Using ISTA, go to service functions and look for fuel pump test |

Thanks guys….yes…it has the module…no relay.
I just performed a few tests with my meter. Checked fuse 105…which supplies the module…13v (car has a tender connected). 13v also at the input to the module. Unplugged the fuel pump…and without engine cranking…approx 1.6v. With engine cranking…approx 10.5v. Plugged 12v directly onto pump terminals…can barely hear a very slight humming…with my ear up against the pump. Do you think I can assume the pump is shot? |

Well...good news.
After checking a LOT of things...and hooking the laptop up again. I found the EWS code was set. After a bit of digging. .I tried a reset on that. I then cleared all codes.. and it fired straight up and is running smooth as silk *♂️ |
