Central locking issue... Not the FOB.

2013 E70.
Issue: I can use the FOB only for a short period of time after unlocking the car.
At this point, once the issue of the FOB not unlocking car, I have to unlock with key. I can then use the FOB to unlock and lock and it works as normal for all doors and hatch.
If I walk away for some undetermined time, 15 mins ish, the FOB will not open anything. I should also mention that prior to this it would randomly not work until clicking it 20 times, (exaggerated) and then work. Initially it was the hatch that gave me issues.
Up until a day or 2 ago it will sense I am at the drivers door of the hatch and will allow me to open with pulling on handles; but the FOB would not work itself.
Again... once I unlock the car the FOB works normal for an undetermined time frame.

I am thinking that maybe the receiving module is on acting up, just wondering if anyone has run into a similar unusual problem.

... new battery in FOB and old one read 3.12 volts. New one reads 3.33 volts.

- Have been trying it over the last hour since posting this... working as it should. :/
- Check temps of handles with infrared lazer and no high temps on handles.

I appreciate the read, but that was more of a "this is how it works" and not a "this is whats wrong when its doing X".
A thought out flow chart would be nice, but I doubt anyone has ran into all issues with the comfort control.

Welp, a "when you see X, replace Y" would be nice.

Next best is 'this is how it works, see if it helps you figure out YOUR symptoms'

Do you have comfort access?

You say you need to 'use the key'.... as in you must insert the key into the door handle, and even the central lock button isnt working??

Correct. Occasionally, I have to insert the physical key in the door because the CC does not recognize me, even with fob in hand.
But again, it’s occasionally. This morning I walked out and everything was normal. I even hit the hatch just to check it.
I drove to Home Depot and walked away hitting the lock button and nothing. Walked back to car holding the button and it locked.
Walked back out after shopping and nothing. Had to insert key to open door.
Stopped for fuel, everything worked as normal.
Got home, walked away holding button and nothing. Had to lock car manually to lock the door.

A very common suggestion to a litany of problems is the car battery. I have comfort access and if we leave the car sitting for a week or so, when I come back to the car normal comfort access doesn't work, and I'll need to use the fob buttons.

Not exactly the same, but on the same path at least. Perhaps your car is shutting down the extra features to preserve battery?

Huh. Good observation. We also know that the BMW charging algorithm isnt linear- the battery charge and how long/far youve driven it can be kinda whack.
