Unhappy Bmw x5 e70 central locking problem HELP!!

Have brought a 2007 e70.

Key fob not working at all, have to use key in the door and it will only open the drivers door. When lock the car with the key it dead locks all doors. Unlock drivers door, alarm goes off until key in ignition.
Every now and again it will open with the button on the dash.
Always locks when press it but takes ages to opening have to press a lot of times.
Checked all fuses and are all OK.

Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

He probably needs programming, what condition is the key in appearance-wise?

Who knows? Could be simple, could be the PO had hacked up the CAS and you have i$$ues.

Soldering in a new battery? Does this mean you car is NOT Comfort Access?

Do you have programming tools? Like being able to read modules for errors, etc? Like ISTA? Do you have access to TIS, so you can understand the components involved and how they all work?

A fob not working is a simple thing...but it sounds like you have significant issues with the modules in the car that control door locks. THAT leads me to think it isnt just 'program the fob'

I cannot tell you how many times cars are sold with significant fob/CAS issues- and the seller says "I'll knock of $200, you can get the fob anywhere"...and buyers believe it.

Have you ever soldered a battery before. You may have damage the circuitry beyond your repair skills...
happened to me.

Have you tested the internal lock in the middle of the air vents? Does this work, yes or no. If it does not work, you have a wiring issue, or your FRM module needs a software reset. If it does work but the remote does not work then its a wiring issue from the drivers door. Does the trunk open yes or no? Does the car lock via the remote, does it lock via the central button. if the car locks but the trunk remains unlocked then you need to have CAS checked, or could be the RF antenna. you need ISTA to check the modules, and you need a multi meter to check continuity in your drivers door wiring. All these things need to be checked. So many variables, hard to help if these things haven't been tried out first.
