32416788256 Exp. hose, Adaptive Drive 1st section

A friend of mine just recently had an adaptive drive pump fail and puke fluid everywhere on his 2010 X5d. We replaced the pump and couldn't get the system to re-initialize. While digging for info on that, he came across literature stating to replace a specific hose if a pump failed and leaked externally. It said due to a high probability of the hose failing internally from a deadheaded pump. This hose shows no longer available through BMW and no stock in any BMW warehouses. Unable to find an aftermarket replacement also. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone else found a remedy for this? I have also been looking to see if any hydraulic shops could put new hose on these older fittings, but no luck yet.

The hose in question is this:
32 41 6 788 256 - Exp. hose, Adaptive Drive 1st section

Several places show it available to order. Some like ECS, Turner Motorsports, & FCP Euro show it back ordered. I manage an independent BMW & Mini repair shop, none of my usual sources or local dealerships can get the part.

know that ECS, Turner and FCP all will buy that part from a BMW dealership.

Only way to get OE BMW parts if from a BMW dealer. If you local BMW dealership parts manager really says "none in the USA anywhere and all backordered" then there is a problem.

GL!

Correct. The dealership parts manager that we buy wholesale from checked US warehouse stock, and Germany, none available.

I did happen to find one possibly coming out of Lithuania. We’ll see if it shows up. Lol.

Say... could you post any details, reference docs (or text) on the stuff you found about hose/pump failure??? Might be useful in the future.

Attached PDF of BMW's repair instructions for dynamic drive pump on the E70 X5d. Wording next to the first picture states:

"Caution!
If replacing the pump due to leaks on account of a pressed-out, clearly visible housing gasket (1) (green O-ring), this indicates that Dynamic Drive expandable hose section 1 is damaged.

This must therefore be replaced together with the pump!"

No problem, I can see how that could help someone using the “search” feature to avoid asking the question again. I’ll update this thread again if the hose actually shows up from the Lithuanian eBay seller. Fingers crossed.
