How to access front view parking camera?

Just bought my X5 a few weeks ago and when I first pulled it home and into my garage it showed me the front-view camera with hazards overlayed in yellow or red, depending on how close they were... super handy when space is tight! I think I likely pushed the parking camera button just under the radio controls to get it.

Since then, though, it seems that I only cycle between backup and 360 views. Backup isn't super useful when I'm pulling into the garage nose-first, and the 360 seems to be very washed out and low on detail, so not as helpful, either (perhaps with being out of sunlight?). If I push the parking camera button when I'm pulling in it shows one view (backup), and if I tap the iDrive controller it goes to the other view (360), but tapping again doesn't get me the front-facing view that I got the first time I used it.

Anyone know how to select or trigger the front-facing camera? I'm not talking about the ones at the front that point to the sides, but the one that shows what is directly in front and highlights things that are getting too close.

Unaware of front facing camera option but I test drove an e70 with side view nose cameras which would be very helpful and maybe what you are describing.

I think the button for the them is in the row that includes hill decent and the trunk button.

Do you have a paperback version of the owners manual? If you do, go to the index in the back to see what pages CAMERA is found. If you have cameras…all of them should be discussed which would reveal which button to press to actuate a front view camera.

If you don’t have a paperback owners manual…check to see if your version of iDrive has an embedded version of the manual. If you do, it may also have a keyword search feature.

Good luck.

Ditto the post above…do you have the front side view cameras & button? Its the button on the far right in the pic below (#7):

If you do have the button above, then you should have the cameras on each side of the front bumper just above the amber reflector in the pic below:

Closing the loop on this... in my case, I do have the side-view front cameras, but have been unable to find a front-facing camera view, leading me to think that my memory from that first night of bringing it home must be faulty. I do remember trying to back into the garage first, but it was a tight fit and so I pulled out again, turned around, and went in front-first. I think that I'm remembering the view showing objects highlighted from when I first tried to back in, and that there is no corresponding front view.

lol. Years ago I called infiniti servce, explaining there was a problem with my new Q45: "the exterior mirrors dont adjust to the saved memory positions when I change between me and my wife"

"Sir, the car does not have a memory for mirror positions"

I could have SWORN they adjusted at some point.
