At least the engine runs well! Though I’d rather change a head gasket than chase someone’s random wiring through this thing.

I wonder what the reasoning for this was? Did the previous owner need the room where the battery was normally for something else, maybe stereo related or full size spare tire ??

Seems to me like it was for stereo, there’s no spare tire. Good spot for a subwoofer!

Depending on the package and options, a full-sized spare tire fits under the resr deck despite the battery location.

Pretty sure a 255/55R18 fits below mine. I thought about carrying one. Or it was narrower? That was almost ten years go, I guess.

My 2010 only has room for a compact spare.

Just wondering... pretty sure it was a compact only. Neither here nor there in this thread....

Funny story- when I was ordering my 2010, I saw that there was an option for a "Compact Spare wheel and tire..... $150".

I thought 'screw that, I'll take the full size for free!'

Idiot, car came with nothing when it arrived.

(I lemoned it, the '12 replacement I ordered the spare... once burnt, twice learnt and all that.)
